1. What’s the difference between a MedSpa and a salon?

Although they offer many of the same types of services, MedSpas can provide treatments that require additional experience, training, and advanced certifications. For example, both salons and medical spas offer facials, cosmetic services, and skin care products. However, you can only obtain treatments with prescription, medical-grade products like neurotoxins or dermal fillers by a physician, nurse practitioner, or registered nurse. Treatments such as these offer longer-lasting results than mere surface products, but they should only be administered by qualified professionals. The services may cost a little more than you will find at your local day spa, but the difference in quality, care, and outcomes is worth the investment. Choosing a MedSpa for your anti-aging and beauty treatments offers more attention to detail, reduced risk of side effects, and overall superior results.

2. What kind of services do you offer at your MedSpa?

We offer a selection of treatments and products that address the most common skin and beauty concerns. Our services range from procedures that are meant to rejuvenate the skin, as well as more intensive treatments created to address mild to advanced signs of aging. These include BOTOX (neurotoxins)as well as dermal fillers.

3. Are MedSpa services expensive?

When you compare the cost of long-term treatments to the ongoing price of serums and creams that provide temporary results, if they work at all, the cost of MedSpa services is more of an investment. The ultimate cost depends on several factors, including:

  • Your age and the extent of the problem

  • The amount and type of treatment

  • Whether it’s the first procedure or a refill

4. Quality over quantity. How do I choose the right MedSpa for me?

What treatments are on the menu at the MEDSPA? While some larger MEDSPAs have an exceptionally long list of treatment options, you often can be better served by a MEDSPA that has a more carefully tailored treatment list. This is a sign that they have carefully reviewed the aesthetic treatment options available and selected the ones they find are most effective.

5. How do I know if my injector is qualified?

To apply medical-grade treatments like neurotoxins and fillers MedSpas must be staffed by at least one qualified medical professional and have a medical director overseeing the practice. Our owner is registered nurse with advanced certifications in all applicable services.

6. Does the MedSpa provide a complexion analysis consultation prior to treatment?

When it comes to seeking MedSpas for skin rejuvenation, many MedSpa treatment facilities will perform an analysis of your existing skin concerns to create a treatment plan to suit your skincare needs. Quality MedSpas will offer a follow-up analysis to analyze how your treatment plan is working.

7. What is the difference between BOTOX (neurotoxins) and fillers?

Although they are both injectable treatments that address similar issues, neurotoxins and facial fillers work in diverse ways. Fillers inject a substance under the skin to add fullness and “fill” wrinkles and creases. Neurotoxins prevents the release of chemicals that regulate muscle contraction, which relaxes the underlying muscle and results in a softening of the features. Neurotoxins are one of our more affordable and popular selections and lasts up to six months before you need a refresher.

8. What is a dermal filler?

Dermal fillers are injectable treatments that replace the hyaluronic acid your body produces naturally. Hormones in your body deplete as you age, leaving skin creased, sunken, and droopy. Treatment with fillers also encourages collagen production, which is the basis for younger, firmer skin.

9. What is microneedling?

Microneedling, is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure with minimal downtime. During treatment, tiny needles penetrate the skin's surface, creating controlled micro-injuries. Simultaneously, stimulating collagen production, and promoting tissue tightening and rejuvenation. Microneedling can improve the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, acne scars, and overall skin texture, resulting in smoother, firmer, and more youthful-looking skin.

10. Hand-selected beauty products

With the overwhelming number of beauty products on the market, it is hard to tell which ones are worth your money. Finding out who chooses the products and treatments is a wonderful way to tell if you are at a top MEDSPA. Quality MEDSPAs will have an aesthetician or another senior staff member who selects the products or product lines to carry. Asking why they chose a specific product can be insightful. A quality MEDSPA will select products based on how well they work and client feedback, not simply because the product brand may be popular.
